GE: Guide Price - Feedback

Please use this thread if you would like to offer feedback on the Guide Price of an item.

We are specifically interested in items which you think you can't buy or sell on the Grand Exchange for around the guide price, or where you think the guide price is widely different to the market price in player to player trades.

After the recent update, some items will naturally adjust their prices to reflect new freedom in the market, and new levels of interest in trading, so please be a little patient to allow this to happen.

When submitting your feedback, please remember that there are lots of factors which contribute to the market price of items. One common factor is how much players might be prepared to pay for potential experience.

Your feedback will be used alongside other data to help us monitor whether there are any problems with the prices. By using the following template, it allows you to present your feedback clearly and for us to use it efficiently.

Please note, if an item has already been reported to us, there is no need to report it to us again. ;)

In addition, we would like to thank you all for the feedback that you have posted so far, including on previous editions of this thread.

Some things that have been changed as a result of your feedback are:

● Black masks with charges which were hard to sell- we've added the ability to de-charge them if you want.

● Archery tickets were hard to sell- we've fixed the prices in the archery shop to correct the ratio of the prices to the value of the items.

● The guide price of party hats has been given more freedom to move to allow them to adjust in value to represent the market price better.

We have also collected some great suggestions from the last thread which have been noted and are on our list to improve when we have time in between other projects.

How guide prices are calculated, what they are for, and how we use your reports:

Guide prices are calculated by the Grand Exchange. They exist to help you judge what you might like to offer to buy or sell an item for, and to give you a sense of an item's value to help you protect yourself from scams.

Market values can change due to updates changing the use or source of an item, and sometimes the guide price may stagnate. In these cases, the guide price can get out of date and not help you as much as it might.

If you report items which you feel the guide price is wrong, we will review them alongside other data which helps us monitor whether there are any problems with the prices.

We may see whether we can allow the price to update more freely, whether we can correct the price, or whether we can fix any underlying problems with how the item is obtained or used. Please be aware that fixes can take some time to evaluate, fix, test and release, and that this support work goes on alongside our work on your updates.

Many thanks, and keep your feedback coming! :)

Thanks for your posts on the previous thread recently. Those of you who reported items, I've added all of them to the list.

We're aware that there is some concern with the new Godwars items (Torva, Pernix, Virtus) from your previous reports, so please don't post about those again, it isn't helpful.

^ That's how certain markets operate. Let economics sort that out, having different prices presents arbitrage opportunities for people to make profit. The market will generally normalize itself quickly in such situations. Also, you'll typically find that prices in the GE will be fairly consistent whether or not you buy in a set or in pieces. The guide price will catch up to reflect that.

Other items that might seem looking at:

- Disks of Returning
- Pumpkins
- Third-Age Melee Armour

Prices are extremely volatile on those, so raising the guide price to compensate might not be enough. Any chance you'd tell us here if any changes are made about the amount of items needed to trigger changes in price is altered? Not looking for specific details, but it might be nice to know so we could predict markets and prices more accurately :P

I don't see the harm in removing the limit on how things update +/-5% it would greatly help item's balance out without jagex having to manually do it, wouldn't want another climbing boots would we? Also Some item's that need looked at are divine sigil's 900m+ Zaryte bow around 500m, let it fluctuate from there, Virtus pieces around 1Bea, Pernix and Torva should have their pieces around 2b.
