Ah...I can never keep my stories going, though I have written the start to a few cool ones, if I do say so myself. I play around with the perspective, so it depends on the story. I wrote an epic ballad for my ancient literature class that I'm told was really good. I just have trouble keeping the story going, you know?

I have a friend who is getting published, so if you see a story by the title of Vyrannan or Faeyn read it! Both are awesome!

Right? It is just difficult to keep writing. It would even be easier if I could dictate it to somebody else. Really, maybe having somebody who was reading it as I write it would make that easier?

it was a while ago, somewhere around three years ago now. It was hilarious. I don't usually read parodies, but it was a parody of everything. It was great. I was so sad when it disappeared. =(

i have this great character line up. they play great off each other, and make an amazing team. i have the world picked out, but my only problem is, an underlying conflict. i have several in mind, but none i am really happy with.

judgement day would be better in a modern setting
great wars has been over done in my opinion
home town destroyed.... cliche....

basically, something has to be dangerous enough to make them flee. they become shipwrecked, and try to return but their home village is destroyed. by the end, each of the characters is given a magic. the bard has the ability to entrance people with his music and is able to charm people with a silver tongue. the warrior is given abilities pertaining to combat. fire lit sword, enhanced reflexes ect. the hunter is given the power of nature. plants and animals. the potion maker is given the ability to enchant items to have specific trigger-able capabilities.

this having been said, how is this for a plot? (lol. just gonna bounce ideas off you guys and girls)

at the beginning, no human has magical capabilities. lore states that they gave it up long ago for a lasting peace. war has broken out and the magic has started to leak back through. fires, explosions, floods, erratic anomalies, and so on. over all, they must re-embrace the magic of the years gone by, learn of it, embrace it, and learn to control it.

what do you think?

You are in need of an antagonist. Some big bad evil, or Moriarty-type character needs to be motivating or controlling all this. Granted, that doesn't need to be a character. It could be anything, an object that is sought after, a sickness that is avoided- you need a McGuffin. And you might want to pick one of those characters as a particular lead. Having a braided plot can lead to false climaxes out topping the final Peak of action (really?! Ok, so this world definitely has issues in perverting language. -.-), and leading to a soured ending, it is a really tough thing to do. Particularly since you are considering a major war in your plot, you are gonna have a large cast of characters, and it could end up being really difficult to maintain an overall plot in the chaos. I like the premise though. What sort of magic are you thinking?
