| aye. i guess that is true. |
one of my favorite pieces to write things to is Pink Floyd's Echoes. There are lyrics, but there's about a 15 minute instrument piece between verse 2 and 3 |
A good song to write to is "Come Sail Away" by Styx. There's a looooooooooooooooong instrumental that inspires wonder. I take it you;re a huge fan of Pink Floyd, Wulv? Well, I recommend listening to Gregorian's cover of "Comfortably Numb". Strangely, most novel ideas come to me when... (wait for it)... I'm in church. Weird. |
yeah, that is weird. most of my ideas come to me when i am either in a car, or in class (both times i am day dreaming) |
Hopefully you're not the one DRIVING the car. A daydreaming driver is the last thing we need on the roads... (Shudders...) Splendid! Anyone want to recommend music pieces to write to? |
In church I have to turn my brain off. If I get an idea, I have to spend the next few hours pacing and working out a few scenes and jotting down notes. Hate it when it happens around bed time. Reading is painful. Writing is painful too, but not as much when you get going. And music is a must for rough drafts. I have playlists for each project. |
| Anyone else here, besides me, 'steal' ideas from Runescape? Coming up with spells for my mage and prayers for my priest is freakin difficult for me. I admit to getting ideas from the spellbook. Any fantasy writers here that can help me with spells (mostly for battle)? |
KatBrat, have you ever participated in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month)? Basically, in the month of November, you write a 50k-word novel. 30 days to write 50k words... The ultimate challenge for any novelist. Then there's Screnzy, in which you write a 75-page script in April. When it comes around, I'll make a thread for it. |
hmm... i find Baba Yetu is good. (no i am not driving the car) lets see.... that, Europa, Jealous of the Angels, piano man. lol. I'll go through my favorites list if i don't stop. (the worst driving i did was when i got half way to my destination, then i realized... i got no sleep the previous night. i obviously stopped driving after that.... lol i wast doing to bad either. just a little trouble concentrating. lol) |
Oh, and as for spells, just think of a basic element, and then throw in some gibberish for the spell name and throw it into the world. Like so: Huigrasus! (A spell that burns stuff.) The spell name needs to sound magical. |
